This symposium is aimed to expose and engage the participants to active student-centred methodologies, particularly problem and project-based learning as applied in a variety of disciplines. It shall also provide them with an opportunity to network with others in the field and look into how these methodologies could be implemented in their own institutions. To be able to share this particular experience with other institutions of both secondary education and higher learning in the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) and in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, Bahrain Polytechnic is organizing the 2019 Problem-based, Project-based learning symposium to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from the 31st October – 4th November 2019. It is the goal of the organizers to stimulate discussions around this theme, further enhance the participants’ classroom practice and ultimately transform our students to face the challenges of tomorrow.
The theme of the symposium is Accomplishing Innovation in Higher Education: Problem and Project-based Learning in Focus and the scope of the symposium includes, but is not limited to, the following sub-themes as they relate to Problem-based and Project-based Learning (PBL and PjBL).
The symposium is open to all disciplines that will showcase active methodologies, particularly problem and project-based learning across higher learning institutions and secondary school levels.
