Call for Proposals

Submissions are welcome from academics, students and practitioners across the varied higher education disciplines, as well as the secondary school levels. We urge individuals as well as institutions to submit paper proposals that deal with the main theme, 'Accomplishing Innovation in Higher Education: Problem and Project-based Learning in Focus'. Proposals about other active learning and teaching methodologies are also encouraged. The symposium language shall be in English.

The symposium sub-themes will include, but not limited to:

Please note that an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as a full contribution. All abstracts and full papers will be blind-reviewed and the accepted papers will be published on the symposium electronic proceedings. Please take note of the following important dates:

Presentation Specifications
PAPERS

Papers present reports of significant work or integrative reviews in research, development, applications, and societal issues related to all aspects of the symposium topics.

Presentation time: 20 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion

PANELS

Panel discussions provide an opportunity for public discussion amongst a selected group of 3-5 panelists, who shall be determined by the symposium organizing committee. Participants who choose to have their proposals in this format should also include 8-10 significant open-ended questions which shall be shared to the chosen panelists prior to the session. The participant should also indicate whether he / she would like to be the discussion moderator or a member of the panel. In the latter case, the organizing committee shall provide the relevant moderator.

This format shall take 40 minutes with 20 minutes allocated to questions and discussions from the audience.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are 1-2 hour small-group interactive sessions that focus on the demonstration and application of techniques, skills for the purpose of introducing a new concept, provide on-the-spot feedback, from both the presenter and peers in the group, can help to create a sense of community or common purpose among its participants.

For one-hour workshops, 10 minutes must be reserved for question and answer. For two-hour sessions, 20 minutes are allocated for questions and discussions.
